My newest Traveling With Kids column is over on Classic Play! today. This time I decided to get down to the nitty gritty of traveling with kids. Meaning, I interviewed the kids and asked their opinions and experiences in regards to travel. They gave me some well thought out philosophical anecdotes on traveling. And they also gave me a story which revolves around toilets (there was an 8 year old boy involved!). I loved hearing how different our kids memories are of our travels compared to ours. Some little stories they tell I had completely forgotten about. So pop on over and let me know what you think. And if you have some stories about your kid’s views on travel I’d love to hear them!
My newest travel column is over on Classic Play! today. This time I wrote about making traveling as a family as affordable as possible. Believe me, it is possible. I list all my top tips on how to save money on transportation, accommodation and entertainment. I also included my top way of saving spending money in the months leading up to a trip. Pop over and take a look and I’d love to hear if you have any tips of your own.
Today I’m over on Classic Play! with my last Traveling With Kids column of the year. This time I write about our visit to the Mount Fuji/Five Lake District in Japan. It’s a gorgeous region that is full of nature, culture and history. And the views of that gorgeous mountain are unbelievable! It’s really something that we’ll never forget. Pop on over to Classic Play! to read all about it.
My newest Traveling With Kids column is on Classic Play! today. This time I write about our wonderful trip to Quebec City a few years ago. Quebec City offers so much to families with kids of any age. I’m pretty sure it’s the closest you’ll come to European (especially French) culture in North America. And it’s a great way to show off that middle school French to your kids. And, most importantly, don’t forget to try the poutine! Pop on over here to read all about it.
Today over on Classic Play! you can read my newest Traveling With kids column. This time I write about our recent “Sleep in the Hay” experience in Switzerland. We stayed at a beautiful farm in the Swiss mountains above Lugano and the kids were in heaven the entire time. Breathtaking views, wonderful walking trails, lots of animals, farm fresh cheese and goats who shared our sleeping quarters. What more could a kid want? Check out my post here.
Time for another column in my Traveling with Kids series on Classic Play! This time I thought I’d discuss the fact that there is sometimes an unfortunate situation or a bump in the road during traveling with children. Travel disasters happen and we have to embrace them, solve them and move on. Sometimes this is easier said than done but if we remain calm it usually irons itself out so we can enjoy the rest of our travels. Pop on over here to read my post and I’d love it if you took some time to share any unfortunate situation that has happened to you while traveling with kids.
My newest installment of Traveling With Kids is on Classic Play! today. This time we visit the Belgian seaside. People think we’re crazy to drive 1200km north to do a beach vacation but I have to admit that I absolutely love the Belgian coast. Yes it may be a lot colder and windier (often even rainy) than the beaches here in the south but it has so much to offer kids and families. If you like cycling, walking, kiting or eating pancakes then this is the place for you. Pop on over to Classic Play! and if you have time leave a comment to let me know what you think.
The newest installment of my Traveling With Kids column is on Classic Play! today. This time I talk about the importance of culturally preparing your children before visiting a new country and culture. These are simple things that can make a big difference for everyone involved and make your trip that much more enjoyable. Pop on over and let me know what you think!
I’m really really excited to let you all know that I have been asked to be a contributor to one of my favorite blogs. I’ll be writing a Traveling With Kids column for Classic Play! and I’m over the moon ecstatic to be doing it.
Today my first column is published and it’s about our recent trip to Japan. For the post I asked the kids to give me their top 10 favorite memories about the trip and in the end they came up with the exact same ones I would have (except the Japanese toilets maybe!). I’d love it if you popped over there to take a look and even make a comment if you so please.
