Trentotto

25 May

Yesterday I was….

Gently settling into my new role as a 38 year old.

Appreciating the beautiful sunny warm day after what seemed like months of rain and cloud.

Knowing this is going to be a beautiful year for me and my family and friends.

Appreciating and being grateful for all the wonderful people in my life, near and far.

Trying not to think how close I am to….40.  How is that possible?

Eating lots and lots of cake.  Seriously a lot.

I whipped up this cake yesterday and it was really tasty.  I used sugar cookie dough for the crust and baked it with a cheesecake filling.  Then I poured melted dark Belgian chocolate on top and sprinkled shaved white chocolate on top of that.  A serious calorie bomb.  Inspired by this recipe from the wonderful Delicious Stories blog.

Happy Birthday! Hope you enjoyed your day!….As someone over the 40 mark (but not too many years..), life just keeps getting better – I think we truly begin to design the life we want to live and live it! I must try your cake sometime…sounds very delicious! BTW – Would love to talk to you more about kids blogging…

Thanks for the b-day wishes. It was a great day. I’m surrounded by the loveliest people.

In regards to kids blogging I’m definitely no expert but my kids do indeed blog (you must have seen my daughters blog cocova.wordpress.com). We actually started it as a way for our kids to practice writing English and to have some contact with grandparents and great grandparents. Our kids are schooled in Dutch and French so it was rare they would have the opportunity to write in English.

They love it and our family who lives all over the world love it too.

Oh, I’m so happy my recipe inspired you to make this wonderful cake!!!! I hope you liked it 🙂 I also hope you had a really nice day, I sent you a greeting sms, did you received it? 38 is still a nice age, even if it’s getting closer to “40”. However, 40 is not supposed to be that bad ;-)))))
Have a wonderful week end, with a lot of sun and nice weather. Here in Sthlm we’re being spoiled 🙂
    Besos.
