The Hive 2014

26 Mar

**UPDATE** the person who will receive my ticket for The Hive Blogging Conference is Anastasia from the blog Stilzitat.  Hope you have a great time and make sure to take lots of IG photos so that I can follow along!

Website BannerFor the past few years I’ve had the pleasure of attending The Hive Blogging Conference in Berlin (see my posts here and here).  It’s a yearly event, held in May, that brings some of Europe’s most successful and creative bloggers together to learn, network and just have an amazing time together.  On top of these week-ends being inspiring and creative, it was also my one week-end alone (sans kids and husband) in a big city.  So I can’t even explain to you how beneficial it was on so many levels for me personally.

I loved spending those week-ends listening to and learning from some of the most influential creatives in Europe and, most of all, meeting like-minded people.  Some of the ladies I met at The Hive have become good friends and who I keep in contact with, collaborate with and even meet up with in person.

This year The Hive decided to change things up a bit and host the event in the city famous for it’s gorgeous and modern design aesthetic, Copenhagen. After seeing photos of the beautiful venue, the list of talented speakers (Gudy from Eclectic Trends, Anne from Anne’s Kitchen and Allan from Bungalow Five to name a few) and the events and courses that are offered I think it’s going to turn out to be a pretty amazing week-end.hivespeakers

Back in the fall the conference’s founder and organiser Yvonne asked me to be The Hive trend-blogger for Italy.  I loved sending off those monthly reports on what’s hot and what’s not in the Italian blogging world.  And I have to admit that I learned a lot and discovered so many amazing Italian blogs, bloggers and creatives in the process.

Unfortunately this year I won’t be able to attend The Hive and I’m absolutely crushed.  I have my mother coming overseas from Canada to help me celebrate the fact that I’ll be turning….drum roll please…..40.  Yep, trying to keep my head high and my thoughts positive on that one.  I know it’s going to be a great new phase in my life (right?!).

So because I love The Hive and because I am entering my 40s I’d really love to give away my ticket (which I received in return for my trend-blogging work) to the 2 day conference that will take place the 17th and 18th of May (airfare, accommodation and other travel expenses are obviously not included!).  All you have to do is comment below and let me know why you’d like to attend.  Is it the networking, the workshops, the talks or the parties that attract you the most?  For me personally I’ll miss the opportunity to meet and chat with some favourite bloggers and participate in the calligraphy workshop run by the talented Betty Soldi.

Follow The Hive’s Facebook page to learn more about what’s happening in the coming months.

Hive Header 2014I’ll announce who will receive The Hive conference ticket next Wednesday on April 2nd (comments will close on Tuesday evening at 9pm Italy time!).

    Ciao Jillian,

I’d love to join The Hive but I didn’t get a ticket jet. Why should you give this ticket to me? Well, you are turning 40 and my blog is called “Life 40up!” http://www.life40up.de It’s a blog for fabulous women and men age 40up and I’d like to show that people over 40 are still fun-loving, attractiv and curious for life! I love to tell stories about plans, hopes and changes in life after turning 40. If I win the Hive Ticket, I will make a fabulous blog story about it.

    Yours, e tanti saluti,
    Valérie

This is so generous of you. Why would I like to win this? Because I’ve never been to a blogging conference … ever! This would be a fantastic opportunity to meet these lovely bloggers, get better at blogging and learn calligraphy….something I’ve wanted to do for a while now. And hopefully I’ll get a chance to ‘pay it forward’ one day:-)

I would love to go to The Hive! I’ve been wanting to learn how to spruce up my blog a bit in terms of design and photography. Plus it would be super fun to meet other bloggers! 🙂

I was crushed last year when Tala’s passport didn’t make it in time for us to be at The Hive. I’d love to make up for missing out! Not to mention Copenhagen has been on my wanderlust-list for the longest time.

I would love to go, too 🙂 It would be my first Hive ever and a great chance to meet inspiring people, share experiences and find new insight and inspiration I’m sure. And Copenhagen would just round off the whole experience.

After having such a great time at the 2 previous editions of The Hive in Berlin, I’d love to join the fun in Copenhagen! I’ve heard there is a bunch of talented French bloggers speaking, so I just have to cheer them on, right?

    Dear Gee-lee-Aan, 😉

First of all, you don’t look like you are turning 40! Jillian, have a blessed birthday celebration with your loved ones! It’s the most precious thing and I bet you won’t regret having your mom and the rest of your family with you on this special day! Who knows, maybe you’ll get a trip to Copenhagen from them 😉 I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you….

I learned about your blog through Gudy, who invited me to join your amazing giveaway party! I didn’t have a chance to get a ticket yet, actually it was supposed to be a Christmas gift from my boyfriend to me and it might sound crazy, but we got carried away by redecorating our new apartment and by redecorating I mean a REAL construction area for the past months!! Tomorrow we will be moving – finally – and I wanted to plan this trip this very week!

Now you asked for the reason, why I would love to go… Reason, I have reasonS!
When you wrote, that you love meeting like-minded people, I was really struck, because this would be my number one reason why I would love to go! I imagine: it feels like coming home, meeting family. Last year I met so many amazing bloggers on the internet. Even better, I met some great, great bloggers in real life and there is nothing more inspiring and fulfilling to me! Great friendships have developed and I am planning on making new friends. Conferences like these make it so much easier to communicate and inspire each other…
This next reason actually sums up reason number 1: there are two ladies attending, and I am sooooo head over heals over their blogs and would looove to learn from them: it’s Gudy from eclectictrends.com and Mette from monsterscircus.com. Both are a HUGE source of inspiration to me and I would love, love, love to hear what they have to say! It would mean the WORLD to me!!!
I have never been to Copenhagen and would LOVE to go! When redecorating my apartment I realized, that I have developed quite a love for Scandinavian design over the past years and was surprised, how much the scandinavian style has influenced my interior. I would love to bring some new scandinavian accessories for my new home after the Copenhagen trip!
Last week I bought a new pair of sunglasses for this trip only. No, really… Sometimes, when I buy things, I think about places and situations where I’d love to wear them… So these sunglasses are ment to be worn in Copenhagen! Do you want to be the one to disappoint them?

Jillian, thank you for the ability to dream, maybe this dream will come true…
    XO, Anastasia
