Indian Snapshots *2*

22 Jan

I’ve been slowly making my way through more of the thousands of photos from our India trip. Sorting, editing, deleting and putting them in all sorts of absurd and confusing folders on my laptop. Unfortunately this will drive my husband crazy when it’s time to start making our photo book in the near future.

One of my major goals for 2015 is to master a system to organise and store all my photos. I break out in a sweat just thinking about it.  Please, wish me luck.

Here is the next batch of my favourite shots from our trip.

Can you spot the two turbaned men in white?

2014indiaghanerao20

A little urban garden in the courtyard of a palace guesthouse.  I contemplated stealing those flags.  But resisted. (Ghanerao)

2014indiaudaipur1

Woman at temple in Udaipur.

2014indiaflowers

Expect to see fresh floral garlands in every single on of these Indian Snapshot posts.  These garlands were adorning the holy motorcycle shrine that I mentioned in the last post.

2014indiaudaipur2

Ladies doing the daily washing at the lake in Udaipur.

2014indiaghanerao5

Beautiful door.  Stray dog. (Ghanerao)

2014indiaghanerao8

This is the friend of the yellow turbaned man from Indian Snapshots *1*2014indiaghanerao13

He pulled this pipe out of his turban and asked me to take a photo of him pretending to smoke it.  I’m still wondering what else he has stored in his turban. (Ghanerao)

2014indiaghanerao21

Found this shot on my camera.  Taken by my daughter who has obviously adopted my love of photographing her feet.

2014indiaghanerao18

Perfect spot for some spiced chai first thing in them morning. (Ghanerao)

I don’t know what these little steps along this blue wall were for (they are overlooking a lake).  But right after I took this photo they were covered with frolicking monkeys trying to make eye contact with us. (Deeg Palace)

I wanted to get a shot of him entering this little room.  This is what he gave me. (Agra Fort)

You should show your son the site “Today’s Levitation” http://yowayowacamera.com/banana/20110625005347.html

The pics are stunning! Really. In my book, they’re award winning. My day has been blessed by these beautiful people. Thank you.

I am so happy the five of you got to experience India. The photos you took are just wonderful and I can only imagine how overwhelmed you must be by how many more amazing photos you still have! I’ve never been there with a decent camera… still hoping I get to go back there and do some real shooting.

      One word….BLINDIA.

Hahaha YES!!! Blindia… wow that would be EPIC!
Gorgeous pictures, Jill! I’m not sure if I want to know all the items the gentleman has stuffed in his turban though… there must be plenty of secrets in there! That pink fabric of his turban is so vivid, you rarely see these intense colors in Europe. Love it!

I love the ones with your kids and all the accompanying stories under each photo. Your trip sounds like it was absolutely incredible 🙂

These are so full of color and life! I can’t pick a favorite, really! Well, that one of your son, and maybe the blue stairs. No. I can’t pick. My husband is half Indian, but it’s been decades since he’s been back. It’s on our list for someday-someday (my son is dying to go!), and your images are so inspiring to us. Someday-someday.

Go go go! I’m almost 100% sure you’d love it there and take the most amazing photos ever. I can’t stop thinking about it and I have a feeling I’ll go back before the end of the year. Time to start saving!
